Frequently Asked Questions
How do grades A2, A3 and A4 compare to international standards?
They are the Iranian ISIRI 3132 classes, set by yield strength. A3 is the general structural grade and corresponds broadly to BS 4449 B500 and ASTM A615 Grade 60 in strength terms, though the standards differ in bond geometry and ductility testing. We supply certified to whichever standard your project specifies.
Is Iranian rebar accepted for seismic design?
A4 and the seismic-qualified grades carry the elongation and yield-to-tensile ratio that seismic codes require. The point to check is not origin but the mill certificate: ask for the ratio and elongation figures and match them against your code, since not every grade in a mill’s range qualifies.
How is rebar bundled and shipped?
In 12 m lengths, wire-bound in bundles of about 2 tonnes with mill tags. It ships break-bulk by vessel or in containers for smaller lots; containerised rebar costs more per tonne but suits buyers without break-bulk discharge facilities.
