Should I order briquettes or powder?
Briquettes for direct addition to a steel bath — they sink and dissolve with far less loss to the fume system than powder, which is why most steelmakers specify them. Powder is for catalyst manufacture, chemical use and applications where the material is dissolved or reacted rather than melted.
What does "≥ 57% Mo" mean commercially?
Technical molybdenum oxide is traded on contained molybdenum, not on gross weight. A 57% assay means each tonne carries 570 kg of molybdenum, and pricing follows the contained metal — so always compare offers on Mo content, never on tonne price alone.
How is it packed and shipped?
In steel drums or jumbo bags, palletised, with the assay certificate stating Mo, S, Cu and P. It is a dense cargo, so containers reach weight limits well before volume limits.
